Giveaway Winners

Well, it's now officially the first day of spring. It's just after midnight here. We have an orange sky, and we had the weirdest snow all day Saturday. It looked like shredded tissue. Very weird. Hard and heavy like ice, but yet it wasn't ice. It certainly was pretty as it clung to the trees and bushes - all "frosted" with thick coats of white shards. Then later in the day, when the winds blew, all those shards shook off the trees and bushes and made for some very interesting clumps on the snow.

Anyway, since it's now the first day of spring, the giveaway is now over. I have to admit some disappointment in the turn out. Maybe it was just too complicated? But yet I think people would still sign up hoping to get lucky. Not enough time? No, not that since people join giveaways all the time. Is it the prizes? Well, yes and no. No in that many of these kinds of things are offered. Yes, in that it's probably a general consensus as to my lack of talent when it comes to prim items. I started feeling very insecure about it because of one forum in particular. I still post there since there are a lot of nice people are there, but...still...

So, since I'm not feeling all that comfortable in making things for this blog, I probably won't be having any more giveaways any time soon. Just my own stuff I have to deal with, and I truly appreciate the supportive comments and compliments from those of you who like my things. Words can't express how really touched I am by them. I know that many of you appreciate what I do and what I make, so I'm not writing about you here. :) It's just that actions speak louder than words, and the lack of enthusiasm over this giveaway is hard to ignore.

This giveaway was also designed to give you those all important one way links on the blogs I referenced in the original giveaway post, and the importance of which was referenced in my marketing and SEO articles. You'd be winning a little something there every time you gave me a link to a tutorial or craft supplies resource, so I'm not sure why not many people wanted to take advantage of that. Most bloggers would be all over that like white on rice - any chance to market and get their blogs more exposure is sought after. I don't mean to sound angry, I'm just not understanding what went wrong. So I'm discontinuing my marketing and SEO series since it generally seems to be a waste of time. The link party here seems to have generated very little interest, but I'll continue it for a little while and see how it goes.

Anyway, since this giveaway was designed to show who the first and second place winners were at any given moment, with a random lucky winner, I had to change that because there's a three way tie as to the usable "leads" I received: Deb, Trish, and Lori.

So, in order to choose the winner amongst the three who are tied, I dropped numbers one through three into a box, and here's what came up.

First place goes to Lori of Make Prim Happen.

Second place goes to Trish of Me 2 U Primitives.

Third place goes to Deb of Paxton Valley Folk Art Shop

Congratulations, ladies! I really appreciate your entering and giving me some leads. :) If y'all could email me, it'd be greatly appreciated.

  3. Doing the happy dance here! Thanks so much Tracy! I am so sorry that you didn't get the response you expected and I have no explanation as to why; lack of time, spring break, who knows but what I do know is that it is certainly NOT your lack of crafting talent; the soaps and candles you sent me are exceptional and I have comments on my blog on the post I made about them from folks saying that they'd never seen anything like them. So POO! on whoever made a comment at the forum you mentioned and if I were you I'd drop it like a hot potato because they are certainly not supportive or encouraging. I love your items and am proud to have them in my home and proud to display them and proud to call you my friend. Big {{hugs}}, Deb

  4. Thank you, ladies, for your encouragement and support. I really appreciate it! :)

Deb - I think I'll take your advice and drop that forum. I get some hits from it, yet no one from there signs up to the link parties, so the hits from there are a moot point. No sense in being stressed about the underlying dislike that many of them have for me over there. :)
